It is a form of sunless tanning where a fine mist is sprayed onto the outer skin layer of your body. This mist contains an ingredient that is called Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) that interacts with your own skins’ chemistry and develops into a tan.
Be sure to shower, shave, and exfoliate 24hrs or on the morning of scheduled appointment. Do not apply any moisturizer/oils or deodorant, and no make up for best results. Keeping the skin clean from products is very important as these products can create a barrier between the tanning solution and your skin.
It is highly recommended to wear dark loose fitted clothing to your session. Do not wear leggings/ tight clothing or jeans as they can rub against your body when getting dressed causing an uneven application.
As for what to wear during the airbrush tan session? there are several options. You can wear a bathing suit/ undergarments, Topless, or nude is allowed as long as you are 18yrs+. Please keep in mind, whatever your choice items to leave on, you will have the tan lines in those areas.
The duration time of the tanning process is only 15mins long. Due to minimal over spray, the drying time is just a few minutes as the solution being used dries very quickly.
Once your airbrush tan has been applied by your specialist, you will be informed when it is best to rinse off. Typically (4-8hrs) depending on your choice of solution. It is highly recommended to avoid coming in contact with water, and refrain from sweating during the development process as that can interfere with the tanning solution. It is recommend to pat dry with towel after showering. Also the KEY to maintaining your tans longevity, is to apply lotion to keep the skin moisturized!
For the best results, it is highly recommended to tan 48hrs prior to any event. So please make sure to book accordingly.
